Book Recommendation 10: optical near field

The book Optical Near Fields – Introduction to Classical and Quantum Theories of Electromagnetic Phenomena at the Nanoscale by Motoichi Ohtsu gives an excellent introduction to electromagnetic fields near polarized medium. In contrast to the propagating fields, the near field is always attached to a medium. Detailed and clear analysis is provided for imaging with optical near field which allows to beat the diffraction limit.

This would an ideal first book to read for those who are interested in optical near fields. A basic knowledge of classical eletromagnetics is enough.
